  • What is sin? Total separation from God. (Why is it a problem?) We are eternally separated from God because of our sin-Isaiah 59:2

  • What does the Bible say about this? Romans 3:10-18;23

Session 2 Baptism and New Nature

  • What is the point of being baptized?  Matthew 3:15

  • Where do we see baptism happening in Scripture? Matthew 3:13; Acts 9:18

  • What if someone dies confessing belief in Jesus but passes away before being able to be baptized? Luke 23:39-43

  • What about infant baptism?

  • New Nature vs Old Nature? What does this mean?

Session 3 Life In The Spirit

  • What is the Trinity? Isaiah 48:16; Matt 3:16,17

  • How does the Bible describe the Holy Spirit? John 14:15-18;26

  • When does the Holy Spirit come into a person’s spirit? When we believe John 7:37-39

  • What are “gifts of the Spirit”? Gifts of the Spirit are freely and unconditional given regardless of the ability of the receiver.Why are they called gifts? They are given as a gift by God. 1 Corinthians 12:1-11

  • What are the “fruits of the Spirit”? Galatians 5:22;23 Are these also gifts or something else? They are something that inevitably appears on a healthy tree.

  • What does it mean to be “filled with the Spirit”? Luke 1:15; 41; 67. Acts 2:1-4;8;31. Acts 9:17;13:9. Ephesians 5:18.


Session 4 Rhythms of The Believer's LIFE

  • What practices or rhythms are important/needed in the life of a Christ follower? 1) Read God’s word 2)Worship 3) Prayer 4) Fellowship

  • How should I think  about the idea of regularly reading my Bible? Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God Romans 10:17. Keeps us from sin Psalms 119:11.

  • What is the purpose of prayer? To communicate with God. To learn to trust God

  • What are some instances in the Bible where we can see the power of prayer? Daniel 9:2-23 Acts 4:31;16:26 John 17:1-26

  • What does it mean to “fellowship” with God? Joint participation “Fellowship” with others?

  • How important or significant is it to do good deeds and serve other people especially if they cannot save our souls? They glorify God! We do them because we’re saved not to be saved.
